Prostitution

Prostitution is a part of the cycle of sexual addiction because
prostitution gratifies a sex addict on several levels. Prostitution
is a highly risky behavior that can increase the endorphin
rush that the sex addict seeks. Sexual addiction is more than
simply seeking the pleasure of the completion of the sex act
and prostitution is often sought as part of the compulsive
behavior of sex addiction. Engaging in prostitution from either
end is often considered an advanced sign of sexual addiction
due to its multiple risks. Prostitution is illegal and the
risk of arrest is high. Prostitution also is a high disease
risk and can spread many different sexually transmitted diseases
including AIDS.
Many people who are involved with prostitution
often feel shameful and guilty afterwards, but sexual addiction
always brings them back for more. Sex addicts share the qualities
of obsessive thoughts and compulsive behaviors in relation
to sex. From compulsive masturbating to extramarital affairs
to risky sexual encounters, sex addicts often lead double
lives filled with secrecy and guilt about the things they
do. If you or a loved one finds that they are doing things
that they would not normally do in order to satisfy sexual
urges, treatment for sexual addiction is required.
If sexual activities are consuming more and
more of your time and are leaving you feeling increasingly
empty and hopeless, you may be suffering from sexual addiction.
Prostitution is only one of many dangerous activities that
sex addicts progress into. Anonymous sex in public places,
multiple partners, voyeuristic sex, intrusive sex and sex
with inappropriate partners are all dangerous patterns of
sexual addiction.
Such individuals often turn to prostitution
to fulfill the fantasy and escape the pain of reality. Prostitution
is used to bring excitement into life and the arousal of the
search was exciting in the beginning. But as the behavior
continued the addiction brought tolerance and riskier behavior
is needed to once again achieve the arousal desired. Prostitution
and sexual gratification consumes thoughts and behaviors in
order to escape the pain of anxiety, anger, loneliness and
low self-esteem that those with sexual addiction share.
